A harmonious blend of history and modernity, the historic Villa Bianca, designed by Jan Kotěra in 1910-11, was extensively renovated in 2003 by Erick van Egeraat. While the exterior was restored to reflect Kotěra's design, the interior was designed in a contemporary style that contrasts with the villa's historic façade.
The design blends modern aesthetics with early 20th century elements. Dark oiled oak parquet floors and natural brass accents promise a rich patina over time. Matt white walls and built-in furniture create a dynamic play of light and shadow.
The touch of Oakcent wood flooring
At the heart of this transformation is exquisitely crafted wooden oak flooring. Oakcent has given the apartment a warm hazel hue that contrasts beautifully with the white furnishings, adding a cosy warmth to the space.
The light interior accentuates the wood grain and traditional herringbone pattern, also known as 'fishbone'.This vibrant flooring style, popular for centuries, has a unique visual effect that enlarges the room and enhances the overall experience.
The kitchen is located in a south-facing room with the dining and living rooms, creating a communal space. This allows for a separate study/guest bedroom. To the north is the master bedroom with dressing area and en-suite bathroom opening onto a balcony.
The Villa Bianca project exemplifies Oakcent's combination of respect for history and passion for modern design. Our wood flooring adds beauty and warmth, honouring the villa's past while meeting modern requirements and celebrating Villa Bianca's architectural heritage.
